Denis Dwyer has a passion for travel, sport, history and writing and was able to indulge all of these in the preparation of ‘New Zealand Adventures By Rail’. He has an MA (Hons) in English and History from the University of Canterbury, and a diploma of journalism. He and wife Dale have three children and seven grandchildren and there are regular trips to Auckland and the Gold Coast of Australia to keep in touch. There are also journeys further afield when opportunities allow. His New Zealand By Foot was published by New Holland Publishers Limited in 2017 and his New Zealand Adventures By Rail in 2018. Denis is a volunteer of the New Zealand Rugby Museum in Palmerston North where he conducts tours, and a member of the Manawatu Striders.
