Friends of the Festival
The success of the 2017 Manawatu Writers’ Festival in Feilding is still being talked about!
And this year there will be sessions over four days in both Feilding and Palmerston North.
The 2018 Festival provides a range of literary experiences for writers – experienced, published, novices, people thinking about “one day I should write a book about …” and also people who are simply interested in reading and the powerful use of words. So it is inclusive. It’s a great event for everyone on all levels, providing a chance to connect with people in the communities in and around the Central Districts, and it costs nothing to attend.
The organisers are committed to maintaining the MWF ethos of inclusivity and accessibility by making sure all sessions and workshops have free admission for everyone. In order to be able to provide this level of accessibility we rely on community support. Whilst generous contributors and notable speakers support what Manawatu Writers’ Festival is trying to achieve in Manawatu’s communities, all the work is done by passionate volunteers, so we need help.
For those of you who believe in the benefits of nurturing the arts in the community, and particularly the value of reading, literacy and the continued development of written expression, please support this community event with a donation, or become a Friend of the Manawatu Writers’ Festival.
Friends of the Manawatu Writers’ Festival has been formed to offer opportunities for financial supporters of the Festival with a minimum donation of $20.
Benefits of becoming a ‘Friend of the Manawatu Writer’s Festival” include:
